Many people have asked how they can be praying for the Promise House…here are our current praises and prayer requests.

Lucas Andrew Chery was born on December 10 and is now almost 2 months old!  We pray for his bonding, health and development and for mom and dad to get enough rest to keep up our responsibilities in the Promise House.

Wilson has been busy at the new land in Galman.  The perimeter wall and house foundation are nearly finished and the well has been drilled.  We pray for safety of the work crew that has been there, for his brother Peter who is supervising when Wilson can’t be there, and for everything to continue running smoothly.

We are also praying for our new neighbors and that we would be able to build healthy relationships with them.  Our closest neighbor had a baby a few weeks after Lucas was born and since friends gave to us so generously, we were able to bless them with a lot of newborn items they needed.  We were also able to give the father a job with the construction.  We pray for that family, along with the others in Galman that we don’t know as well yet.

J was having some trouble with his right thigh for a while and after an x-ray in town, we discovered he has bone growing in his muscle tissue.  It can be painful for him, but there’s not too much that can be done at this point besides pain control.  It should eventually be reabsorbed, but that can take up to a year.  We pray for his pain to be well controlled and for fast healing.

The kids have a new special education teacher, Rachel, and she has been doing a wonderful job with them!  We pray for her to have the energy she needs and for clarity as she will be deciding soon whether to stay for the 2018-2019 school year.

H is finally smiling!  However, it’s still not too often.  We pray that this positive change would continue and that we would find new ways to bring her joy and help her express it.

    Dear Wilson and Sheila,

I am praying for your requests and especially for your marriage and for some rest for you both. I wonder whether you may eventually have another person or couple there with you to form a team to work with these children? I have worked with children with disabilities also and even just one can be a lot for two people sometimes. You don’t have to respond unless you feel lead to and have a moment.

In case you’re not remembering who I am, Taelin Iniguez told me about you and I gave some kids clothing before you left the US. I met Wilson and your father when I dropped off the bags.

I’m happy to read your updates and also that the cockroaches have come under control!

Laura, we are so grateful for your prayers! We do have nannies in the house that help us with the kids. We could not do it without them, but their standard of care is so different from ours that a lot of work goes into managing them 😉 We have been praying about what is the most sustainable long-term plan for us and these wonderful kids who won’t be kids forever!
      Stay in touch!
