Many people have asked how they can be praying for the Promise House…here are our current praises and prayer requests.

We’re expecting a baby!  We covet your prayers for a healthy pregnancy and to find a midwife who can help us deliver the baby here in Haiti this fall (due date: November 27).

E moved into the Promise House with us a few weeks ago.  He has been at COTP for over 5 years, but it was recently decided that our home would be the best place for him.  We are very excited to have him while praying for him, the other kids, and ourselves during this transition.  Right now, one of our goals is for E to gain some weight so we appreciate your prayers that he would eat well!

K recently started on a new medication that should help his muscles relax and make him more comfortable.  We pray to find a balance between getting him comfortable and not making him too sleepy, too relaxed to do therapy effectively, or causing other side effects.  So far, it’s working great!  Because of how much less his muscles are working all day long, he’s actually putting on a fair amount of weight, but he is SO much more comfortable than he was before.

We are praying fervently for Forever Families for our kids.  While we love them immensely and do think that God is helping us provide a good life for them, the reality is there are still 7 high-needs kids living in one home.  The progress they’ve made with us would be multiplied many times over if they had a family focusing on them with more regular therapy and education opportunities.  Pray with us that God would put a spark in the hearts of the perfect family for each child. Pray that God would put a burden on your own heart for one or more of these beautiful children.

We see so much progress in so many of our kids, but we have yet to see H smile since moving here almost a year ago 😦 We pray for her to be filled with the JOY of the Lord!

    Dear Wilson and Sheila,

I am praying for your requests and especially for your marriage and for some rest for you both. I wonder whether you may eventually have another person or couple there with you to form a team to work with these children? I have worked with children with disabilities also and even just one can be a lot for two people sometimes. You don’t have to respond unless you feel lead to and have a moment.

In case you’re not remembering who I am, Taelin Iniguez told me about you and I gave some kids clothing before you left the US. I met Wilson and your father when I dropped off the bags.

I’m happy to read your updates and also that the cockroaches have come under control!

Laura, we are so grateful for your prayers! We do have nannies in the house that help us with the kids. We could not do it without them, but their standard of care is so different from ours that a lot of work goes into managing them 😉 We have been praying about what is the most sustainable long-term plan for us and these wonderful kids who won’t be kids forever!
      Stay in touch!
