HAITIAN MAKE-BELIEVE

There’s a little tike’s playground between the baby house and my apartment.  Today about a dozen of our little ones were crowded onto the platform at the center of it, excitedly calling me over.  When I arrived they proudly informed me that they were on a TapTap.  In Haiti, the most common form of transportation is their taxi, an overcrowded bed of a pickup called a TapTap.  “Who is driving?” I asked.  They unanimously agreed on which one of them was the driver.  I’ll give you each one guess who it was…
